| Neighborhood: Near Westside Neighborhood | Description: The undiscovered jewel of Elmira is the Near Westside neighborhood. This gem of historic housing is situated within walking distance of Elmira's resurgent downtown. The entire neighborhood is listed on the U.S. Government's National Register of Historic Places. It has the highest concentration of Victorian Homes of any neighbor east of the Mississippi.
The Near Westside is also dotted with grand historic churches along the cities main street appropriately named Church Street. In the Near WestSide Neighborhood you will find locally owned diners and restaurants, florists, custom tailored clothes, and specialty gift shops to name a few.
The NearWestSide is on the very edge of Elmira's downtown. There you will find The Clemens Center for the Performing Arts, the areas largest performing arts venue.The Elmira Jackals, Elmira's professional hockey team, play in the downtown's First Arena. Across the street from the First Arena and in front of the historic Park Church is Wisner Park. Wisner park is the setting for events throughout the year. The events inlclude the Wisner Park Farmers Market.
The Farmers Market is held every Thursday throughout the spring and summer. You will find locally grown organic produce, local food vendors, crafts, live music, lots of nice people, and a shade tree to have lunch under. All within walking distance of the Historic Near WestSide Neighborhood.

| Neighborhood: Grandview Heights | Description: The Historic Grandview Heights neighborhood is listed on the U.S. Government's National Register of Historic Places. The most common architectural styles are Mediterranean Revival, Craftsman Bungalow, and Mission.
Grandview Heights is made up of a very diverse group of residents ranging from families, singles, working class people, professionals, black, white, Hispanic, gay, and straight. These good neighbors make up a well run neighborhood association that help to keep quality of life standards high.
Grandview Heights is well situated between cultural institutions like the Norton Museum, the Armory Arts Center, and The Kravis Center of Performing Arts. Within walking distance you will find world class entertainment, shopping, and dining at CityPlace and Downtown WestPalm Beach.
On the west side of Grandview Heights is Howard Park, the largest park in the City of West Palm Beach. Tennis, softball/baseball, basketball, and a well used heart trail can all be found in Howard Park.
Grandview Heights was established in 1910. At that time most of the people who lived in Grandview Heights were craftsman and other service related professions who were mostly employed by the wealthy located on the nearby Island or Town of Palm Beach.
To this day Grandview Heights remains a great place to call home. | |  | |
